Though my dad usually grabbed a can of Hormel (affordable, tasty, on hand!), we always added some cocoa to it while heating it up on the stove. An old coworker stole a menu from Skyline Chili to give to him, which now resides on my kitchen table, boasting onions, chili and spaghetti, piled high like a beacon of hope and warm bellies.

I was delighted to see this post, it made me happy, as do all yr posts. If I get ambitious, maybe I'll scan or snap a pic of the menu to share with you. Happy New Year!

-JilJil!https://www.blogger.com/profile/02714662831586733024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-950929295954784456.post-73343897792031770022010-12-29T19:38:24.814-06:002010-12-29T19:38:24.814-06:00Mmm...I am familiar with the special Cincinnati Ch...Mmm...I am familiar with the special Cincinnati Chili and as I read your comment, I realized I never even spoke about the difference!

Thank you for clarifying...obviously I was more concerned at the time explaining how to make it 'bachelor style' than why it is a bachelor version of the real thing!

Hope you stick around and thanks for your input!

Chow on,
KaceyKaceyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16347359923099227598noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-950929295954784456.post-44568866146630760922010-12-29T12:27:41.917-06:002010-12-29T12:27:41.917-06:00Any kind of chili?!?!?! I don't think so. Wh...Any kind of chili?!?!?! I don't think so. What makes Cincinnati chili special is that it is made in a Greek fashion with chocolate and cinnamon. It's served on spaghetti and topped with very finely grated cheese (a three way), or with beans (a four way) or with beans and onions (a five way). Do yourself a favor and find a real recipe for Cincinnati chili. Once you've had it, you'll never see chili the same way again. Oh, and don't forget to smash up some oyster crackers on top.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-950929295954784456.post-36772841349410062612010-12-15T17:23:24.417-06:002010-12-15T17:23:24.417-06:00Strange, but surprisingly delicious!Strange, but surprisingly delicious!Racheyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00589256569587067929noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-950929295954784456.post-63922102722425299732010-12-15T08:20:22.313-06:002010-12-15T08:20:22.313-06:00I saw this on an episode of Diners, Drive Ins, and...I saw this on an episode of Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives, and have a hard time getting over pasta with chili...seems so strange!CDChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05640057179531552240noreply@blogger.com
