Asian Cabbage Slaw

Want something crunchy, sweet, simple and healthy? Here you go. This Asian Cabbage Slaw will go as a side to so many dishes, or you could grill up some chicken or steak and toss it in for a complete meal. Last week I met some new folks down at the beach and had lunch at their place. I wanted to bring something tasty, light, and something that you don't have to worry about leaving out in the sun. It ended up being the perfect dish. They had served delicious sliced and pulled pork BBQ which went perfectly with this no-mayonnaise coleslaw.

Next time your looking for something to bring, try this!!!

  • 1 bag of coleslaw mix
  • 1/2 bag of broccoli slaw mix
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 3/4 cup canola oil (or veggie oil)
  • 1 pkg. ramen noodles (broken up)
  • 1 handful of slivered almonds
  • 1 large handful of craisins
  • sesame seeds
  1. Add coleslaw and broccoli slaw mix into large bowl.
  2. In medium bowl, whisk together sugar, vinegar, and canola oil. Once sugar is dissolved, pour mixture over slaw and toss together to coat.
  3. Add slivered almonds, craisins, and a few pinches of sesame seeds.
  4. If you are serving the salad right away, add in broken ramen pieces. I recommend letting this sit a couple of hours at least so everything can marinate. Add ramen just before serving so it does not get soggy.
