Alright. I have a bad blogger confession for you. I made something so delicious that I quickly gobbled it down swearing that there is no way I could forget how to make something so good.
And well...you guess it. That's exactly what happened. These few pictures and the memory I have of them are the only thing that remains. Sure, I could guess what I did, what ingredients I used, which is what I'm going to do. But it will remain as that. A guess. I promise you though, my guess will be close, and you'll have to use your best kitchen judgment for the measurements, but it will be delicious!

Spicy Shrimp Tacos

- Whole Wheat Flour Tortillas
- Shrimp, cleaned & shelled (plan on 3-4 per taco)
- Garlic
- Chili powder
- Cayenne pepper
- Olive oil
- Salt & pepper
- Avocado
- Tomato
- Cole Slaw (estimated recipe to follow)
- Mince garlic. Mix shrimp, garlic, chili powder, cayenne pepper, olive oil, and salt & pepper together in a bowl. Cover and refrigerate at least 20 minutes to marinate.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat, and saute shrimp until cooked through, approximately 2 minutes on each side.
- Meanwhile, chop avocado and tomato.
- Warm tortillas slightly in non stick skillet or microwave, just a few seconds each.
- Top each tortilla with cole slaw, shrimp, avocado and tomato.
- Eat the delicious goodness!!!

- Cole slaw mix (because really, why not?)
- Rice vinegar
- Sour cream
- Sugar
- Salt & Pepper
- Cilantro
- Red onion
- Chop onion and cilantro. Toss with cole slaw mix.
- Add a spoon of sour cream (just enough to coat), a few splashes of rice vinegar, a pinch of sugar, and season with salt and pepper.
- Toss together and add extra ingredients if necessary.
Mmmm....I want to eat this! :)

ReplyDeleteMark - I agree! In fact, one of my biggest pet peeves are people who have picky food habits. I try to insist upon people to try things at least once, although it's better to try things more than once to get a good feel for it. Anyway, thanks for check this out, I'll be checking out your blog shortly!
I tried to favorite this on photgrazing but it wouldn't let me. These look awesome and this type of food is my all time favorite! The spices you put on the shrimp are the same ones we use! Great post!

ReplyDeleteHonestly, I never measured. All the spices are pretty spicy, so I would add little bits at a time and taste it on a shrimp. If it needs more, add more. It might not be the answer you were looking for...but it's how I cook!
