A Shun Surprise!

I'd like to introduce you to the newest addition(s) to Kacey's Kitchen:
I consider myself a simple gal. I don't think I ask for much stuff, want much stuff, or need much stuff. I don't like diamonds or fancy cars or expensive cloths. But apparently I like certain shiny things. Sharp, beautiful, shiny things.
Shiny things like a Shun 7" Santoku knife.
And shiny things like a Shun 6" utility knife.
I received this beautiful duo as a Hanukkah gift from my parents. Somehow, they picked out the exact knife that I have been looking at for months, but too cheap to purchase for myself. Very excellent. And shiny. And beautiful. And sharp. I am very excited to start practicing with these, and thought you should know. Chop Chop!

  2. I'm so glad you finally got this! A good knife makes all the difference! Also, check out Cook's Illustrated.com - they have some tips on how to properly USE the damn thing. (let me know if you want my log in & password since it's you have to pay seperately from receiving the mag).

    Love you,
    ~S
